This Project Engineer position entails a passion for well designed and smoothly implemented Control Systems. This system is the leading network management and control system used by major satellite broadcasters such as ESPN, CNN, Disney, Fox, ABC, MTV, etc. This position involves engineering, assembling, installing and supporting QNX based Real-Time Monitor and Control systems. This position offers technical challenges as well as an opportunity to advance and improve processes to help streamline production and setup time. QNX/UNX/Linux knowledge is beneficial.

Crystal emphasizes well engineered and cleanly configured systems. Crystal puts a strong emphasis on QA and doing things correctly the first time. Tasks include Reviewing purchase orders, Gathering required information to engineer system, Efficiently Engineering the system, Configuring/Setting up the system, preparing for Quality Assurance testing, and Integrating the system. This position also includes clearly documenting systems and procedures as well as direct communication with the end customer; therefore excellent user and customer interface skills as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Self directed time management is important since this position does require servicing existing systems and first line support for flag ship customers.

Position requires 24/7 occasional client support, therefore home broadband connection and international long distance service are required, as is a valid drivers license and transport.

A bachelor's degree in an Engineering field is required or equivalent experience. RF and satellite industry experience is a bonus. Up to 30% travel may be required.

C/C++ Developer (full-time)

Crystal is looking for a C/C++ Developer with heart and passion for Crystal's software systems. Please check out Crystal's history and culture.

This position entails maintenance and creation of new translation drivers for a multi-process, server-client control system. This system is the leading network management and control system used by major satellite broadcasters such as ESPN, CNN, Disney, Fox, ABC, MTV, etc. A good understanding of C, bit structures, and communication protocols is recommended. This position focuses on translating data to/from Crystal's data strcuture format and proprietary 3rd party communication packets. This position offers technical challenges and additional opportunities to advance a mature product with feature improvements. Knowledge of shell scripting, Perl, PHP, CVS, ASN data structures and SNMP datagrams is also beneficial.

Crystal emphasizes well engineered and well written coding standards. Self directed time management is important since this position does require maintenance of an existing system and second or third line support.
