Since Earl Franklin founded Crystal Computer Corporation in 1986, the company has been providing functional and flexible monitor and control system solutions to premier customers in the satellite and broadcast industries.

We are one of the oldest monitor and control companies in the industry and have participated in the broadcast industry's growing use of automation in its operations. Our system has evolved for more than 20 years primarily because of the input from our customers. We have purposely built in flexibility to our software to provide for these changes. In fact, most of our features are the results of customer requests.

This was the original mission statement of Crystal Computer Corporation when it was founded. As you can see from our current mission statement, it hasn't changed much.

Awards

Crystal was the proud recipient of the World Teleport Association's 2001 Awards for Excellence in the teleport technology category when we introduced CrystalVision, our GUI product based on QNX.

In order to be selected as Teleport Technology of the Year, the organization’s technology must demonstrate achievement in one or more of the following areas —

History

Crystal's software began as a DOS-based earth station control system to be sold DOS Historyin tandem with a customer's antenna control unit (ACU). It was later modified to be configurable and to provide drill-down screen nesting.

This system served us well until it became obvious that graphical user interfaces were the way of the future. So we wrote our third-generation control system in the QNX operating system, taking advantage of the opportunity to greatly expand the design and capabilities of the DOS-based system.

Now that broadcasting has entered the age of mergers and acquisitions, our customers are demanding a monitor and control system that can oversee ALL of their facilities, regardless of their locations. We have met this need with our latest version, CrystalVision Network Management and Control.
