Customer History

From the very beginning of the company, Crystal has sold monitor and control to teleports, network broadcasters, and TV stations who demand the most responsive systems.  We have customers who have been with us for more than 18 years - practically the birth of monitor and control.

In the 1990s, Crystal sold monitor and control to several customers who purchased our ACU, which was the only antenna control unit at the time that could be retrofitted onto existing antennas. Once those customers had a taste of our software, they were so pleased that they've been customers ever since!

Even back then, customers valued what Crystal has always offered: real-time responsiveness, configurable design, and extendable architecture.

We sold to a direct-to-home provider when direct-to-home service was brand new.

Customers today are much more sophisticated about monitor and control than 15 years ago. Uplink and downlink are now basic, automation is expected, and equipment analysis is required. Customers now need to be able to control all of their equipment in all of their locations - seamlessly. We are excited to be able to offer this networking ability with CrystalVision NMC.

Many of our customers have purchased CrystalVision because they love our user interface: it's easy to use, intuitive to learn, and provides the data that's important to each of them at a a quick glance. They hear our glowing references from current customers who appreciate our responsive support department. They like the fact that we've already controlled much of the same equipment that they own. But all of customers buy from Crystal because we develop a relationship of trust, honesty, and respect that continues long after the sale is done.

Success Stories

Over the years, we've not only met the typical needs of a monitor and control customer, we've solved some unusual problems as well. Here are a few examples of what we can do besides the basics.

At a customer's request, Crystal developed Site Diversity which allows CrystalVision to monitor their uplink chain and switches the entire site to another one 150 miles away during inclement weather. They say that the switch occurs so quickly that they can't even see it happen (on TV). We also monitor their fiber routes and switch quickly and automatically if one becomes unavailable.

One of our newer customers needed control of several sites around the country from a central location. For each of these remote sites, they needed to be able to - quickly - select uplink frequencies, come online with the satellite in unmodulated mode, and uplink their material for ingest at the central location. Crystal was able to do this with just one button for each step. Our solution provided the speed they needed with virtually no chance of error.

CrystalVision monitors Narda radiation detectors at one customer's site and executes a contact closure if a threshold is reached. CrystalVision monitors the voltage among the three legs to detect brownouts and other voltage conditions. The system also monitors the current on each leg to identify consumption anomalies and to ascertain adequate generator capacity.

Crystal developed the Crystal Content Ingest System due to a single customer's request. The Ingest System provides conflict detection, per episode editing, and clip start, stop and skip dates.  As with every Crystal feature, it can be customized to your unique needs.

Many of Crystal's customers have implemented Cue Tone Monitoring, a CrystalVision feature that provides an automated, objective means of verifying that each cue tone was in fact sent. CrystalVision can log the precise time that each cue tone is sent and/or the precise time that each cue tone is received. It can also display an alarm if a cue tone does not arrive within a specified amount of time. These tones can be monitored based on a regular schedule or ad hoc times.

Latest Jobs Won

Did you know that Crystal has installed systems as far away as South Africa, Singapore and the Middle East? We are happy to boost about vast customer list which is constantly growing.

We were also recently selected by a well-known, international manufacturer / integrator to assist them with the replacement of an entire broadcast system. We will be working closely with this new customer to provide both local and remote broadcast control as well as extensive disaster recovery features.

We've also recently sold to several customers who have wanted a monitor and control system for over 5 years and have finally been able to give the green light. We never gave up on them over all that time and we are very excited to be able to serve them!

In contrast, one recent customer ordered a system just two weeks after contacting us. We were able to replace their old monitor and control system using many of their existing cables and I/O points.

We are very busy upgrading many of customers to CrystalVision NMC. Some of them are upgrading from DOS. They are excited to be able to take advantage of our network management and control features.
