Monitor and control software in the 21st century is no longer about controlling equipment locally and remotely. Now you can manage entire networks of equipment from centralized or distributed locations worldwide, limited only by the ability to connect to each location. Make these connections using LAN, WAN, satellite, and even dial-up to monitor, control, manage, and configure systems without ever physically being at the remote location - even thousands of miles away.

Crystal Computer Corporation creates and sells broadcast equipment monitor and control software, along with the options, hardware, training, and support that go with it. We call it CrystalVision.

CrystalVision NMCCrystalVision Network Management & Control is our latest version. It brings the CrystalVision product into the new century by providing the network management functions that our customers cannot do without. It is also a full suite of software, hardware, and engineering tools designed to put the power of your satellite broadcast system into the hands of your operators, engineers, and managers.

Overview

CrystalVision NMC has a flexible, functional graphical interface based on a robust, mission critical, real-time architecture that provides an “at-a-glance” status of all devices and unparalleled control, responsiveness, and expansion capabilities.

Site DiversityNetwork Management

CrystalVision NMC can control devices in control rooms, unmanned shelters, and redundant sites, whether the equipment is across the street or across the world, using Ethernet, SNMP, LAN, WAN, and Network Management.

Network ManagementAny site can monitor and control any other site - in any configuration. For example, a customer has satellite equipment in Moscow, London, and Washington, D.C.  Washington, D.C.’s node may be configured to monitor and control everything on the system while Moscow’s node may only monitor and control its own equipment. Some of our customers will be using this new networking and GUI function to ensure business continuity in the post 9/11 environment.

Our advanced alarm reporting and maintenance, as well as protection switching in the event of a failure, quickly improve system up-time. Do you want to know what equipment failures have occurred or are may be about to occur? Which service outages happened and when? What the usage is on different types of equipment? Get all of this information and more with CrystalVision NMC.

Remote ControlWindows GUI

CrystalVision NMC gives you the real-time response that you can only get with a Crystal system. Up until now, this meant that you had to run a different operating system for CrystalVision than what’s on your desk. But now CrystalVision NMC offers you a Microsoft Windows® interface. You can monitor your equipment right from your office while trusting CrystalVision’s real-time OS to take fast, automatic corrective action if something goes wrong. Never again settle for just a monitoring system. CrystalVision NMC gives you the flexibility of intelligent software that allows you to define what actions it will take when equipment fails.

Graphical User Interface

Graphical User InterfaceCrystalVision's user interface is the easiest to learn, the most intuitive to use, and the most functional in the world. Your employees will enjoy working with your new Crystal system; it makes their jobs easier. Your customers will love the ability to call you with a change or new service at a moment’s notice. All of this can happen with CrystalVision NMC.

By graphical, we don't mean "looks pretty." We mean real point-and-click function. Select your transponder; don't enter frequencies. Select your satellite; don't enter azimuth, elevation, and polarization. Drill down to the next window only when you need more detail.

Graphical User InterfaceCreate "virtual device" windows with different attributes from different devices for a pre-feed setup or a routine day-to-day activity. Put a "hot button" on any window that will open an unrelated device window or that will execute a script.

Open many device (equipment) windows at the same time. Put one or two attributes (an equipment's function that can be monitored and/or controlled, such as frequency) from each device on your main window. Make all of your receiver windows look the same, regardless of manufacturer.

What Can CrystalVision do for you?

Monitor & ControlBesides allowing you the flexibility to monitor and control your uplink and downlink chains from wherever you need to, CrystalVision NMC can be relied upon to keep those chains up, running, and automated.

CrystalVision is configured to meet the operational and business needs of each customer. Each system uses a modular design. We include only the modules and options that you need. This saves you money because you won’t pay for features that you won’t use. This modularity also enables economical reconfigurations as needs change.

Do you want to:

  • Reduce operational costs
  • Increase revenues
  • Improve system up-time
  • Generate detailed and overview network performance reports
  • Reduce employee turnover, and
  • Reduce customer turnover?

Our customers realize improved efficiencies almost immediately upon installation and training; operators no longer run across a room or building to control equipment. They do the same thing from a desktop computer that is located where you decide.

CrystalVision NMC allows operators to take more feeds and set up and take down services faster than ever before. This frees up time that can be translated into more revenue.

What Makes CrystalVision So Special?

If we had to pinpoint the one thing that makes our product unique among our competitors, it's control. Most monitor & control software is designed for monitoring and reporting. But CrystalVision is, and always has been, designed for control.

Teleport Award for ExcellenceFrom the selection of our operating system (real-time QNX), to our software design (prioritized messaging), CrystalVision embodies the most ideal broadcast control environment available. In fact, we won the prestigious Teleport Awards for Excellence for Teleport Technology in 2001 when we introduced our CrystalVision graphical product.

We have a huge library of device drivers already written. But that won't matter to you. Even with new drivers, our installation lead-time remains the same.

We've been around the broadcasting industry long enough to know what our customers' ideal M&C software should do, and we've done it:

  • Fast
  • Reliable
  • Attractive, Functional, Easy-to-Learn Graphical User Interface
  • Responsive Support

Control RoomBecause our focus is on the unique requirements of real-time control, CrystalVision may not be the cheapest monitor & control solution that you price. But there's no doubt that CrystalVision will be the most powerful.

And because CrystalVision provides so much function, we end up selling to the most demanding customers.
